A growing client needed to ensure their multi-stage hiring process was both compliant and effective across several U.S. regions, including Chicago, IL. They required a thorough review of their:

My Approach
Compliance Audit: I conducted a detailed review of all questions and evaluation criteria, referencing federal guidelines (EEOC, ADA, Title VII) and local Chicago/Illinois laws (Illinois Human Rights Act, Chicago ordinances).
Risk Identification: I flagged any questions or scoring methods that could potentially violate anti-discrimination, privacy, or fairness standards.
Remedy Recommendations: For each issue, I provided clear, actionable remedies—such as rewording, removing, or replacing problematic questions, and adjusting evaluation rubrics to focus on job relevance.
Scenario Analysis: I documented any differences between Chicago/Illinois and nationwide compliance, ensuring the process was robust everywhere the client hires.

Deliverable
The final deliverable included:
- A fully annotated question and criteria set with compliance notes and recommended changes clearly marked.
- A summary table of flagged issues and remedies for quick reference.
- Guidance documentation to help the client maintain compliance as laws change, and to train hiring managers on best practices.
